Description:
This resolution introducing new statutes for the Warsaw Pact was adopted at the March 1969 meeting of the alliance's Political Consultative Committee. The document lists the guidelines and responsibilities in peacetime of (i) the newly formed Committee of Ministers of Defense and (ii) the United Armed Forces (UAF) and the Unified Command. The document outlines the general statutes of the supreme commander, his deputies, the military council, the chief of staff, and the general staff of the supreme commander.
