Description:
This Hungarian report gives an account of the Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting held in Sofia in March 1968 at the request of Romania, in order to discuss the planned Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The report addresses differences between Romania and the other Warsaw Pact countries. The Romanian delegation expresses disagreement with the draft treaty and asks for additional points to be added to the document. Romanian leader Nicolae Ceauşescu announces that Romania will present its proposals at the Eighteen Nations Disarmament Conference in Geneva and at the UN General Assembly.
