This is a summary of the 1980 meeting of Warsaw Pact deputy foreign ministers. The purpose of this session was to exchange views concerning the preparations made to date for the Madrid meeting of the Conference on Security and Cooperation (CSCE) in Europe and to clarify the main direction of the next step in the détente process.
