This document is a transcript of a speech by the chairman of the Council of Ministers of Romania, Chivu Stoica, at the 1956 PCC meeting in Prague. Stoica affirms Romania's eagerness to develop closer economic, political, and cultural ties not only with other European Socialist countries, but also with countries in Asia, Africa, South America, as well as with NATO members. In this respect, Stoica reiterates Moscow's idea of international cooperation among all countriesm, irrespective of their political systems. Romania also supports the Soviet peace policy of disarmament and the banning of nuclear and hydrogen weapons.
