Description:
This is a Czechoslovak summary of the speeches delivered by the respective Warsaw Pact foreign ministers at the 1989 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Warsaw. They all underline the need for Warsaw Pact reform, democratization, disarmament, and political and economic cooperation across Europe, but disagree in their assessment of the international situation. While most of the Warsaw Pact countries have a moderate attitude toward refoms, Poland and Hungary express more radical views on democratization and on economic reforms.
