Romanian Minutes of the PCC Meeting20 Jan 1965 |
||
Description:
These Romanian minutes of the 1965 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Warsaw address Romania's disagreement with the possible deployment of a multilateral nuclear force in Western Europe. Contrary to all other participants, the first secretary of the Romanian Workers' Party, Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej, opposes the idea of a nuclear weapons non-proliferation treaty. He fears that certain countries could easily use a non-proliferation treaty to condemn China's nuclear rasenal.
