Description:
This communiqué presents a synopsis of the decisions adopted at the 1958 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Moscow. In addition to the resolutions regarding the complete withdrawal of Soviet troops from Romania, their partial withdrawal from Hungary, and reduction of the armed forces in all Warsaw Pact countries, the communiqué conveys the complete unanimity of the participating Socialist countries in matters regarding the internal reorganization of the United Armed Forces (UAF) as well as cooperation on all issues regarding collective security and the conclusion of a nonaggression treaty between the Warsaw Pact and NATO.
