Notes on Conversations between Soviet First Deputy Premier (Alexsei Kosygin) and the Planning Commission of India and Indian Ministers

Description: These notes reports on several conversations between Indian ministers, the members of the Planning Commission of India and visiting Soviet First Deputy Premier Kosygin. The latter reports on his impressions of his visits to several Indian industrial plants and state enterprises. Kosygin recommends several changes to Indian planning organization and practices drawing on Soviet experiences. He also comments on trade relations between both countries, proposing various barter agreements. Kosygin promises further Soviet support for the expansion of Indian steel output and the development of the oil industry in India.
