Description:
This is a report on the 1965 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Warsaw. It includes a summary of the respective Warsaw Pact party leaders' speeches excluding the speech of the Soviet First Secretary. They cover the following topics: (i) the reduction of armed forces in Europe and the Conference on Security of Cooperation in Europe (CSCE), (ii) the role of West Germany in Western Europe and its relationship toward East Germany, (iii) economic development and cooperation and (iv) the relationship toward China. Nicolae Ceauşescu speaks in favor of strengthening the political instruments of the Warsaw Pact, namely of establishing a Committee of Foreign Ministers. Collection: Party Leaders
