This is a transcript of comments given by the general secretary of the Romanian Communist Party, Nicolae Ceauşescu, at the Political Consultative Committee meeting. Ceauşescu states that Romania will maintain its military expenditures at the present level. He expresses his wish to improve the collaboration between the Socialist countries. He refers to discussions with the general secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, about cooperation between Romania and the Soviet Union. Finally, Ceauşescu refers to relations between the Soviet Union and other Socialist countries, including China, and praises the process of normalization and improvement of relations.
