Minutes of the Romanian Communist Party Politburo Session Concerning the Forthcoming PCC Meeting16 Mar 1969 |
||
Description:
Two decisions are adopted at this meeting of the Central Committee of the Romanian Communist Party, on the eve of the tenth Political Consultative Committee (PCC) session. The first is the Romanian delegation's decision to reject any attempt to allow discussions within the PCC on the escalating problem at the Sino-Soviet border, and to avoid mention of this issue in public communiqués under all circumstances. Secondly, the Romanian party leaders decide to address the invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968, which they reject, claiming that the attack constituted a breach of sovereignty according to the Warsaw Treaty of 1955.
