Description:
According to this updated USAREUR estimate of Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces, Soviet leaders are following policies that create little risk of general war. NATO would have up to four days' warning of impending attack. The estimate is supported by 23 annexes (not included) with information on weather and climate characteristics of the areas of operation, the dispositions of Soviet and Warsaw Pact troops and their combat effectiveness, their axes of attack and advance in wartime, and the resistance potential of the satellite countries. The file contains the first 20 pages of this 336-page document.
